FAQ
FASTCORP's Z-400 Frozen Merchandisers
AQ1- What is so unique about the Z400 Frozen Merchandiser? FASTCORP has patent protection throughout the industrialized world for its robotic ice cream/frozen food vending machines that have no moving parts in the freezer, a design that prevents frost build-up and damage to components in sub-zero temperatures. It was designed with the insight of veterans from all areas of the vending industry, including engineers, production experts, mechanics, route personnel and management. This collaboration has enabled FASTCORPâ to design and build a machine that is highly reliable and easy to service.
The Z400 also features "eye-catching" back-lit graphics that can be viewed from as far as 100 feet away, a back-lit card display system that always keeps the machine looking full, and a window that treats customers to a "robotic show" as the Z400 retrieves and dispenses the customers' selection. The Z400 puts the fun back into ice cream and frozen food vending!
The Z400 carries a 2-year limited warranty on parts.
FAQ3- How does the robot work? The Z400 utilizes a pick and place robot with a vacuum picker head to dispense products. Robotic systems are designed for reliability and versatility. Pick and place vacuum robots are widely used in industrial applications such as assembly lines and various production procedures.
The robot uses three interchangeable motors for front/back, left/right, and up/down movement. The robot is accurate within 1/16 of an inch of its target location.
FAQ4- What happens if there is a problem with the robot? The robot is completely self-diagnostic. The name of the faulty component will be displayed on the customer display screen by pressing the "#" key on the customer keypad. The robot is designed for easy servicing and can be removed and replaced quickly. If the robot fails to retrieve a product, it will make two more attempts before giving the customer the option to choose another selection or refund his or her money. This feature reduces the risk of irate customers vandalizing the machine.
FAQ5- What kind of freezer is in the Z400 Frozen Merchandiser? The Z400 utilizes a standard chest freezer that requires no mechanical maintenance. R-134 A, an ozone-friendly refrigerant, is used in all machines.
FAQ6- What about frost build-up? Frost will only accumulate on the top three to four inches of the freezer walls. It can be easily removed in about five minutes with a plastic ice scraper , which is shipped with every Z400 we sell. This process may only be necessary once every 3-6 months of operation, depending on usage and humidity levels.
FAQ7- What happens if the plug is pulled? Unlike other vending units with upright freezers, the Z400's chest freezer will keep ice cream fresher, longer. Product can typically last 12+ hours before temperatures reach unsafe levels inside the freezer. A health switch disables the operation cycle if the temperature in the freezer is too high. If a meltdown does occur, the melted product usually remains contained within the product bins. Bins can be replaced easily and inexpensively. The freezer has a durable white steel liner and a built-in flush system that allows for quick and easy cleaning.
FAQ8- What can I vend with the Z400 Frozen Merchandiser? The Z400 can vend ANY ice cream novelty including pints. The Z400 can also vend frozen food products and many types of objects up to three pounds: beepers, cell phones, oranges, cans of soda, etc.
FAQ9- How many products can the Z400 Frozen Merchandiser hold? The Z400 can hold more than 400 pieces of inventory with up to 120 units (4 bins) per selection. Each bin holds between 25 and 30 ice cream bars. There are 18 bins in a standard configuration.
There are unlimited bin configuration options. The robot can be easily programmed by the operator to grab products from bins placed anywhere inside the freezer. The flexibility of the bin layout allows the ability to add frozen food products quickly and easily. FASTCORPâ offers different bin sizes to suit your product inventory and configuration. (see Parts Sales for more information on bin sizes and prices)
FAQ10- How are products loaded and stored in the freezer? The Z400 is the fastest loading frozen vendor. It utilizes removable, inexpensive plastic corrugated bins to store product. Different bin sizes are available and can be purchased from FASTCORPâ. A "first in, first out" (FIFO) inventory loading system is used to help insure product quality at every vend. During the loading process, any remaining inventory is pushed to the top of the bins before fresh inventory is added. (see Parts Sales for more information on bin sizes and prices)
FAQ11- How reliable is the machine? Our customers have reported that machines have operated flawlessly in high-profile locations for tens of thousands of vend cycles. Service technicians often refer to the Z400 as a "Serviceman's Dream". The reason:
The Z400 is completely menu driven and user friendly. The forty character display allows all the information to be visible on a single screen. Seek out the name of the action you wish to perform from the list of menus and the computer will prompt you for the relevant information. One time through the programming sequence is all it takes.
FAQ13- Is there training available for my service technicians? FASTCORPâ offers training at its facility in Morris Plains, NJ. Comprehensive service/operation videos are also available
